Mixed Doubles Magee’s make medal match
Sam and Chloe Magee kept their good run of form going by booking their place into another quarterfinal of the European championships. The Magee’s who medalled in the championships in 2017 and at the European Games in 2015 and again in 2019 will fight once more for a medal tomorrow. Standing in their way of the podium is a tough task. The Irish will face the number one seeds and World number eight ranked pairing Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith of England.
Nhat Nguyen lost out in his last 16 match to the number four seed Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus of Denmark. Hans-Kristian who reached the final of Thailand open earlier this year showed his experience beating Nhat in two games 21-11 21-11.
"Sam and Chloe had a solid performance today and have put themselves in with a fighting chance in tomorrow's quarterfinal match. They face a tough task against the number one seeded pair and World number 8 ranked pairing Ellis and Smith of England, but the goal will be to create an upset. Nhat lost out to an experieiced player today. He will be disappointed but he has reached the last 16 of this European championship and I have no doubt he will build on this result for future championships"
