Badminton Ireland Disability Inclusion Policy
Wednesday 3 March 2021
Badminton Ireland are delighted to announce the launch of the organisations new Disability Inclusion Policy. The launch of the Badminton Ireland Disability Inclusion Policy is another step on the National Governing Bodies journey to making its practices more inclusive for people of all abilities.
Moreover, the implementation of this policy will support the organisations development in the area of Disability Inclusion moving forward into the future. Additionally, it is anticipated that it will provide a platform with which to support an inclusive environment for all affiliate bodies and members of Badminton Ireland as we move into the future.
Furthermore, this policy document is structured to align with the five key values of the Cara Sport Inclusion Disability Charter . Those five areas consist of; Openness, People, Activities, Facilities, and Promotion, and were put in place following consultations with people with disabilities who outlined what they regarded as the key considerations for sporting organisations to consider in making sport and physical activity opportunities more accessible.
To date over 50 affiliated bodies of Badminton Ireland have demonstrated their commitment to developing their inclusive practices by signing-up to the Charter, with signatories consisting of Provincial Branches, County Associations, League Committees, and Clubs. We are encouraging organisations at all levels of our game to sign-up to the Cara Sport Inclusion Disability Charter by completing the form at the following link.
