New Teicnic, New Skills, New Talent

New Teicnic, New Skills, New Talent

It has been an amazing couple of weeks in Marino Institute of Education as our U13 and U15 Teicnic Badminton Summer Camps came to a close last week.

This year's camps were once again held in the Irish National Training Centre. Both weeks of the camps were packed with badminton, outdoor activities, guest coaches and on-site activities. The camps were led by some of Ireland's top National Coaches and some of the Talent Squad players were there for both weeks sharing their knowledge/skills with the players.

On both of the camps the players trained throughout the day with both on court and off court activities. After some of the on-court sessions players had the chance to go outside and take part in football, GAA, volleyball, athletics and other sports. During the camps, players were lucky enough to be able to watch the High-Performance Team training in the mornings and even get down and get some pictures and a hit with them before the day started. Thanks to Sam Magee for donating a few of his shirts to give out to the campers of the week over the camps.

Well done to all of the players who were assessed in the Teicnic Badminton programme and progressed on their current level, receiving their T-shirt at the end of each week. Also well done to the campers of the week on each camp who were the players who gave all around the best effort both on and off court to progress and assist the coaches in any way they could.

Also a big thanks to Marino Institute of Education, Guest Coach Andrew Stewart from Wales, all of the coaches who led and assisted with the camps and to the Talent Group Players who assisted over the camps.
