    Badminton Ireland have complied an updated  list of questions and queries which we have received from our members and clubs over the past week and compiled them into the below FAQ Document. We plan to be able to update this document on a weekly basis, as well as provide further help through an online video which we will release early next week.

    We will like to thank all the clubs and their volunteers for their continuing efforts to get Badminton back up and running within their communities.

  • Resilience Fund Club Grant Scheme 2nd Round

    Badminton Ireland are delighted to announce the 2nd Round of the Resilience Fund Club Grant Scheme which all Badminton Ireland ROI affiliated clubs can apply for to assist them with the financial impact that the Co-Vid 19 pandemic has had on their club activities.

    This Grant Scheme is available as a result of the announcement from Government that up to €15 million would be made available to support clubs nationwide. Moreover, Sport Ireland recently confirmed that Badminton Ireland would be allocated funds to deliver and administer a 2nd Round of the Resilience Fund Club Grant Scheme through the National Governing Body. We thank both the Government and Sport Ireland for their support during this challenging time for our sport.

     

    Applications are to be submitted by all clubs via the following Microsoft Forms link:  Badminton Ireland Resilience Fund Club Grant Scheme Application Form 

     

    Any supporting documentation to submit alongside your application should be sent to Sarah O'Donoghue on sodonoghue@badmintonireland.com.

     

    Deadline for submissions is on Friday October 22nd at 5pm.

    Furthermore, the webinar hosted for the first round of this funding stream is available on the Badminton Ireland YouTube. We would recommend clubs watch the webinar in order to better understand the process for this funding. *Ignore deadlines in the video or dates associated with it, please see image below of new dates and deadlines.

    *Please be aware that the Resilience Funding Grant Scheme through Sport Ireland is only available to affiliated clubs in ROI.

Covid Protocol update for returning to play on 20th September

Dear members,

Please see the latest protocol for returning to play on the 20th September below. 

The main points are as follow: 

  • Clubs will only be able to operate with either the Pod of 6 OR the 100 fully vaccinated participants, clubs will not be able to operate both systems simultaneously

 

  • If clubs wish to apply the government guidelines in terms of allowing for 100 fully vaccinated participants, clubs will need to take on the responsibility of checking, at each club night, a participant's vaccination certificate on entry to the venue and clubs will need to take full responsibility in applying this if they choose to take this option as opposed to applying the 'Pod of 6' system which Badminton Ireland is recommending.

 

  • For juvenile clubs, we recommend the ‘pods of 6’ system per court, with all the same procedures outlined.

 

  • Under 18’s are not required to be vaccinated, as part of the 100 vaccinated participants
