The Irish Senior and U-15 Championships took place on Saturday & Sunday 6th & 7th February 2010 at the National Badminton Centre, Lisburn. Congratulations to Scott Evans and Chloe Magee who retained their Nationals Singles titles at the Lisburn Rackets Centre last weekend. This is Scott’s 5th Nationals Singles title and Chloe’s 4th.
Sam Magee and Tony Stephenson won the Men’s Doubles with Keelin Fox and Karen Bing taking the Women’s Doubles title. Sam Magee and sister Chloe then went on to retain their Nationals Mixed Doubles title. This event was a great opportunity to see our top players in action. U-15 Nationals The U15s event was full of excitement with Jonathan Harron taking the Boy’s singles title. Alannah Stephenson from Alpha BC won the Girl’s Singles. The Boy’s Doubles was won by Danny Keown and Conor Scanlon from Sligo with Alannah Stephenson and Keady Smith (Ulster) taking the Girl’s Doubles. The mixed was won by the Ulster pairing of Jonathan Harron and Keady Smith. Thanks to all those who worked so hard to make this a successful weekend. A total of 55 players competed in the Senior Championships and 40 players in the U-15 Championships.
