National Badminton Week 2010 - 16th-24th October

National Badminton Week 2010 dates have been announced -  16th to 24th October 

Calling all Schools, Clubs, County Associations, Provinces and affiliated sports bodies. Why not organise an event during NBW 2010 to promote badminton and yourselves in the community! Now an annual event, Badminton Ireland held National Badminton Week 2009 from 23rd October to 1st November 2009 as a kick off to the badminton season...During this time, all badminton clubs opened their doors to allow anyone interested in having a go to come and play.  Badminton is a sport for everyone regardless of age, ability or fitness level.  Following is an example of the numerous events ran during this week which range from Radio interviews to Grandparents Open Days to the Irish Junior Championships.

  1. Wicklow County Association:  promotion on radio, 15min slot on East Coast radio at 10:45am
  2. Badminton Ireland launch new Strategic Plan 2010-2013
  • Sunday, 25th Oct
  1. Dublin Juvenile Open - Terenure College Dublin
  2. Sheila O'Flanagan was interviewed on RTE Radio 1, at approx 2.15pm, mainly focusing on the launch of the Badminton Ireland Strategic Plan 2010-2013

  1. Dundalk BC hosted a Juvenile Open Tournament
  2. Sligo Lawn Tennis Club, 11am – 2pm, Development Day for existing and new Special Olympics Badminton clubs/services
  3. Mungret St Pauls Badminton Club Limerick, New Members Night 8pm
  4. Kilmacthomas BC, One Day Halloween Badminton Camps for juveniles and new members 'Come and Try It' Night
