Ireland’s Scott Evans has been handed an opening round draw against Sai Praneeth in the Men’s Singles. The Indian shuttler recently moved up to 47th in the BWF World rankings, and could prove a potentially tricky opponent following a decent showing at the Yonex Indian Open.
If Evans succeeds in beating Praneeth, he will face the winner of Japan’s Kento Momota and China’s Lin Dan.
In the Women’s Singles, fourth seed Chloe Magee will face face Indonesia’s Yeni Asmarani. The winner of that tie will face either Maziyych Nadhir, also of Indonesia, or India’s Arundhati Pantawane.
In the Mixed Double’s Sam and Chloe have been seeded third. Their opening match-up sees them up against Singapore duo Zhao Jiang Terry Yeo and Lei Yao.
