Appreciating the role of Parents in Sport - Sports Parents Promise

To celebrate Parents in Sport week, we caught up with the No. 1 Ranked Men's SIngles Player Nhat Nguyen to see if he could sum up the important role that his parent's have played in his Badminton career. He provided us with this quote above which really highlights the personal support of his parents, and how they guided him growing up.

Parents are not only there to pick up and collect their children. They play an important role in motivating, protecting, caring and supporting their children. This is a role which often is under-appreciated. This week we are celebrating the positive impact that parents have on their children in sport.

One way we can do this is by ensuring parents have the information they need to support their child’s involvement in sport. During Parents in Sport Week we are encouraging parents to make the Sports Parents Promise to their child to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience whilst taking part in sport.

If you are a parent of a young person who plays sport we encourage you to Make your Promise and print off the Sports Parent Promise certificate. You can post your picture on social media to spread the word and show your support using the hashtag #SportsParents
