Sports Capital Masterclass

Dear all,

Badminton Ireland are planning to run Sports Capital Masterclasses in each province in Ireland in order to help our clubs secure funding through the Sports Capital Programme. This Masterclass will help clubs to successfully apply for funds and increase their chances of being awarded a grant. The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport will soon announce the allocations for the 2018 round of the Sports Capital Programme. The government has allocated €40million for the 2019 round of the Sports Capital Programme, with a call for submissions expected during the summer.

In preparation of this announcement, Badminton Ireland has sought to retain the services of 2into3 to assist in the application process. 2into3 are a Management Consulting Company with expertise in applying for Sports Capital Grants.

Throughout the previous Sports Capital rounds, badminton has underperformed in comparison to other sports. The 2017 round was particularly favourable to tennis, which secured over €2.6 million in local allocations. Badminton, on the other hand, secured just over €72,000 in local allocations. Regrettably, only 4 badminton clubs secured local funding.

As a result, Badminton Ireland is seeking to improve the performance of our clubs in the Sports Capital Programme. In 2018, 2into3 ran such sessions with Cricket Ireland, Basketball Ireland and Leinster Rugby which were very well received by clubs. Between February and April, 2into3 will run a Sports Capital Masterclass in each province. The Masterclass will cover best practice and common pitfalls associated with such applications and will give you valuable information on how to apply. This event is free to attend. The purpose of this collaboration is to encourage more of our clubs to apply for funding, while also making sure to avoid invalid applications.

The venue will be announced at a later date and will be decided based on the interested clubs. We are looking for you to express your interest in attending this event by completing the google form below. Please confirm your interest to me by Friday January 25th.
