Siofra Flynn travelled to Sheffield this weekend for the under 13 Gold star event. Siofra had a very impressive route to the final beating Sia Pandit and Lucy Dodd of England and then beating Iona Muir of Scotland.In the final Siofra played the number one seed Lucy Brierley of England. Flynn had to settle for silver after a very evenly balanced final. The English number one seed took the first game 21-19 and then took the second game 21-16.
Siofra also took a bronze in the women’s doubles along with Prarthana Reddy. For a full list of Siofra’s results over the weekend click here
Sophia Noble has also travelled to England to compete in the English Gold star this season. Sophia travelled to the English National centre in Milton Keynes to compete in the U17 gold star event. Like Flynn, Noble also had an extremely impressive tournament. Sophia beat Elanor Butler, Holly Williams, number 3/4 seed Khushi Naik and Jessica Allen to secure a place in the singles final.
In the final Noble also had to settle for Silver as she lost out to Lisa Curtin. For a full list of Sophia’s results at the event click here
