The final two speakers for the 2018 coaches conference are now confirmed. The two speakers join the current lineup of
Irish National Coach John Quinn
Three Time Olympian Chloe Magee
UKCC level 2 coach Andy Stewart
Badminton Ireland Tutor Tony Robinson
Badminton Ireland Development officer Fiach Andrews
Badminton Ireland Education and Training manager Daniel Magee
Leslie Dewart "The coaching journey"
Leslie Dewart talks about his pathway from competing internationally as a player and transition from competing into his coaching and Talent Consultant role. This will be a very interesting insight to a coaching pathway that has led Leslie into his new role as the lead Paralympic coach in Ulster Badminton, with a goal of qualifying Niall McVeigh for the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo.
Paul Reynolds “A home grown Talent”
Paul will talk about his journey so far growing up training in the Irish system. Paul has moved up through the Badminton Ireland academy into the high-performance system and has trained under many different coaches on his way there. Paul will give an insight into his day to day life as he balances out training and studies while competing on the European circuit. Paul has also had a number of high profile wins including winning a quadrangular gold in men’s doubles, European U17 bronze in men’s doubles and gold in the 2017 Polish open men’s doubles. This will be an interesting talk for both coaches working with Juvenile players and for players to get an insight into both training and the Irish system.
