Wins in three out of three semifinals for Ireland sets up exiting Irish Open finals

Some more top-class performances today at the Irish Open see's the Ireland ensure three spots in the finals taking place from 10am tomorrow in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena, with the Irish players on from about 12 pm.

Sam and Chloe Magee got the semifinals underway against Hall/Torrance of Scotland. Sam and Chloe really showed their experience against the pair and finished off the match winning 21-12 21-12.

Next up for Ireland was Nhat Nguyen who came up against the dangerous Polish opponent Adrian Dziolko. The first game was very tight and Nhat managed to hold his composure after some long rallies and took the games 23-21. The next games saw Nhat pick the pace of the game up a gear and Dzioko started to feel the pressure making many unforced errors. Nhat took that game and the match 21-7.

 

Sam and Joshua Magee put in a great performance against a tough Polish pair of Cwalina/Bochat. Sam and Joshua looked unsteady in the first game and the Polish took advantage of this taking it 21-16. Sam and Joshua went on to put in a fantastic performance taking the second and third games 21-14 25-23.

The finals start tomorrow from 10 am with Nhat being the fourth final on court followed by Sam and Chloe Magee the fifth and last final. Make sure to come down and support the players as they look to lift the title.
