Nhat Nguyen has made it to the quarterfinal of the men’s singles after winning two tough matches on day three of the European Junior Championships. Nhat won his opening match on day three against Oleksandar Shmundyak of Ukraine, he then faced Nikita Lemeshko of Russia. Nhat looked strong as he dominated the match beating his opponent in all areas of the court. This win has set up a quarterfinal matchup with European young player of the year and number one seed at this event Toma Popov Junior of France.
Paul Reynolds also had two last 32 matches on day three. In his first of these matches, Paul and his partner Moya Ryan lost out to Callum Hemming and Feng Tee Liew of England. Later in the day Paul then partnered Nhat Nguyen and the pair came out on top against the difficult Turkish partnership of Serhat Salim and Baran Yukse in a thrilling match that went the distance in both games.
In the women’s singles Kate Frost, who had beaten Natalie Herbst of Austria in her opening round, finished her European Junior championship as she lost out to the number two seed Clara Azurmendi of Spain.
