Cork Badminton Basics

The Listowel Badminton Club held their annual open week competitions during last week and it proved to be another successful week with 90 players competing on the Thursday night in the div. 4 and 5 competitions and Saturday saw 9 counties represented in the div. 1/2/3 events with the general play being of a very high standard.

On Thursday January 21^st, Coláiste Chathail Naofa hosted the inaugural Multi School Sports Festival for the five local secondary schools in Dungarvan. The festival is part of a Multi School Sports Programme being led by sixteen Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) students at Coláiste Chathail Naofa and coordinated by Jason Ryan, PE teacher at the College. The Programme is being supported by Waterford Sports Partnership.

The Cork Sports Badminton Programme:

The Cork Sports Partnership has joined forces with Badminton Ireland to deliver a Badminton Basics Programme to 10 schools throughout Cork.

94 players, 14 clubs, 5 counties, 109 games and 253 sets and 12 hours of badminton went together to make the Mitchelstown Open a smashing success on Sunday the 11^th October.

Hi Folks, The new season is here and people and schools are already asking me for coaches. So if anybody is a qualified Badminton Coach and are currently on our active coaches database then please contact me and let me know your availability and hopefully we should be able to get everyone out there playing and learning! Hi Folks, I have dates for a Level 1 Coaching Course to be run in Cork, venue yet to be confirmed but if you or anyone you know is interested in getting qualified for the upcoming season then let me know. We have a number of schools programs that we are trying to implement around the country and a lot of clubs who are looking for coaching also. Weekend 1; 25th / 26th July Weekend 2; 29th / 30th August Places on Level 1's can only be secured by paying €150 places are limited and it’s on a first come first served basis. People who need to complete 2nd week end please contact me also to check availability. As usual if you feel you or your county could benefit from one of our coaching courses for the coming season please contact me.
