In accordance with Wicklow Local Sports Partnership's aim of increasing access to coach education and training for clubs/coaches/volunteers within the county, improving the quality of training and increasing the number of qualified sports coaches, leaders and mentors in clubs, Wicklow LSP has launched its Coach Education Fund for 2009.

The 2009 Coach Education Fund focuses on encouraging and assisting club members to undertake appropriate education and training in accredited sports/leader courses.

This is an open ended grant scheme and applications will be accepted as coaching courses become available. Funding is available towards 50% of course fee's. It should be noted that courses which are already subsidised by Wicklow LSP (Code of Ethics, First Aid) will not be eligible for funding.

I would appreciate it if you could make all clubs within your remit in Co. Wicklow aware of the existence of such a fund and if you could promote and advertise the Coach Education Fund to clubs through your coach education programmes.
