 Just a quick note on whats happening in my area.

 COACHING

 Three Introduction to Badminton courses have taking place, One in Cavan and Two in Donegal which were very well attended in both areas.

Thanks to all who attended!!

A level One Course has been organised Donegal for the 28th feb/1st March and  the second weekend on the 28th/29th March.

BUNTUS BADMINTON

 Dates have been set for  Buntus Badminton courses in Donegal,Sligo and Roscommon which will take place in January,February and March 2009.

BADMINTON IRELAND PROGRAMMES

 A New Programme - The Badminton Basics programme is specifically designed to enable Teachers and Transition Year Students to deliver basic badminton skills and to organise structured games and competition for 1^st and 2^nd Year Students following completion of the Badminton Basics Coaching Course. 

As this is a pilot programme, we are delighted to be in a position to offer the Badminton Basics Programme to a limited number of schools during this school term at a cost of only €100.  Each development officer will pilot the programme in 8 schools during the 2008/09 academic year.

FOUR SCHOOLS have already done the BADMINTON BASICS COURSE.

EVENTS

Connacht Branch Badminton Ireland is holding a Strategic Planning Workshop on Tuesday, 13^th January 2009 from 7.30pm - 10.00pm at the Dalton Inn, Claremorris.

We would ask that as many people as possible who are involved in Badminton throughout Connacht to attend on the night; club players, administrators, those involved in County Associations within Connacht and those who are currently involved at Connacht Branch level.

The Planning Workshop aims to highlight the priority areas in the growth of Badminton in Connacht and to draw up a four year development plan based on consensus from all parties including;

• Ø Individual players/club members
• Ø Clubs
• Ø County Associations
• Ø Connacht Branch
