The finals of the First Badminton Primary Schools programme took place at the National Badminton Centre in Lisburn on Friday 24th April 2009.

The programme has been running since October and teams qualified for Fridays finals by winning or being runners up in their Regional Event. The programme is in its second year and it continues to be a popular programme amongst the schools.

The finals day went very well and all matches were very competitive and all were played in a good spirit. My thanks to the teachers and parents who accompanied the children not just at the finals but during the regional competitions as well as without their help the competition would not run as smoothly. I'm looking forward to next year already!!
