 Chloe's final against Karina Jorgensen went to three sets with Chloe taking the first but Jorgensen went on to win the match; 22-20, 14-21, 12-21 in the Final of the Yonex Dutch International Women's Singles Final. Scott Evans was defeated in the Yonex Dutch International Men's Singles Final in a tough two set match, losing out to Rune Ulsing, Denmark; 23-21, 22-20. Choe Magee is through to the Final of Women's Singles.
Well done to both players on taking the silver for Ireland. Saturday, 10th April Scott beat Kasper Ipsen, Denmark 21-17, 21-11 in the Semi Final of the Dutch International. Scott Evans defeated Arvind Bhat, India in an action filled marathon quarter final match (1hour and 4 mins) 23-21, 26-28, 21-15. Chloe defeated Anita Raj Kaur, Malaysia, 24-22, 22-20 in a hard fought two setter to reach the Final of the Dutch International against Karina Jorgensen, Denmark. Chloe Magee beat Spela Silvester, Slovenia 23-21, 21-12 in the quarter final. We are hugely proud of both players and wish them well in their respective Finals... Tony lost 21-11 21-7 in this tie. Scott Evans then took to court against Harry Wright (England) and won 21-11, 21-11. Chloe Magee faced Josephine Wentholt (Netherlands). Although Chloe lost the 1st set 21-18, she rallied round and won the match 18-21, 21-11, 21-14. Next match up was the Mens Doubles – Sam Magee/Tony Stephenson were defeated by Frederic Gaspard/Jonathan Gillis (Belgium)25-23, 21-15. Sam & Chloe Magee were beaten by Danish pairing Anders S Rasmussen & Anne Skelbaek in the Mixed Doubles 16-21, 21-9, 21-15. Scott Evans beat Ben Beckman, England in the Mens Singles 21-15, 21-8 to qualify for quarter finals. Chloe Magee defeated Kim Buss, Germany 19-21, 21-8, 21-8 and is also now at the quarter final stages. Well done to both players.
