The 1st set was tighly fought and the sides were evenly matched, However the German pairing came out on top, winning the set 23-21. Sam & Chloe had a blistering start to the 2nd set, taking a 5-1 lead. in the end though, it was the not to be and they were beaten 16-21. Hard luck to Sam & Chloe who played admirably on their route to the quarter final and put in some tremendous performances. Friday 4th Dec Mixed Doubles: Chloe & Sam Magee Chloe and Sam started brightly this morning defeating Khodabux & Barning who were seeded 4 in a contest that went right to the wire with the Magees coming out on top; 19-21, 21-14, 22-20. Chloe and Sam were back on court this evening playing the German pairing of Peter Kasbauer & Johanna Goliszewski where they came out on top after another super perforamnce winning 18-21, 21-14, 21-10. Tomorrow, they take on Johannes Schoettler & Sandra Marinello (Ger) in the quarter finals. We wish them well. Mixed Doubles: Matthew Gleave & Sinead Chambers Matthew and Sinead battled bravely but went down in a two set defeat; 21-23, 16-21 against Chris Landridge (Eng) & Jillie Cooper(Sco). Mens Singles: Scott Evans(Irl) plays Mathias Wigardt(Swe)
Ladies Singles: Chloe Magee Chloe beat Sarah Thomas (Wales) 21-17, 21-10 earlier today. This evening Chloe took on Elisabeth Cann who is seeded 7 for the Championships. After a slow start in the first set where Chloe was 0-11 down, she came back with nerves of steel to win the set 21-19. The second set was a battle with Cann eventually winning 21-16 and also taking the third set 12-21. Mens Doubles: Sam Magee & Tony Stephenson Sam and Tony were beaten by Scottish duo Martin Campbell & Angus Gilmore; 9-21, 21-15, 18-21. Mens Doubles: Mark Topping & Dan Magee Mark and Dan were defeated by Jelle Maas & Koen Ridder (Ned); 17-21, 16-21 Ladies Doubles: Laura Butler & Clare Flood Laura & Clare took on L Molina/M Ojeda(Esp) but were defeated 20-22, 13-21. Thursday 3rd Dec Well done to Sinead Chambers & Matthew Gleave who qualified for the main draw in the Mixed Doubles after an excellent 3 setter. Congratulations also to Mark Topping & Dan Magee who qualified in the Mens Doubles event. |

Scott Evans defeated Mathias Wigardt (Swe) in 2 sets; 21-12, 21-17 this morning. Scott then faced Ruene Using from Denmark in the late afternoon but was defeated 10-21, 18-21.
