Biggest ever entry for the Yonex Irish International Championships - Latest Update & Draw

With the largest entry at the Yonex Irish International Badminton Championships, Badminton Ireland will have just under 300 players from over 40 countries, playing at the Baldoyle Badminton Centre 3-6th December, 2009.

RAPH3801_CustomIn the Men’s singles, Prezemyslaw Wacha is in the top seed position with England’s Carl Baxter taking the No. 2 spot.  Ireland’s Scott Evans is seeded 7th, in a difficult draw where he might meet the no.1 seed.   However, Scott has had a run of good form reaching the semi final of the Scottish International, quarter finals of Norwegian International in November, and semi finals of Czech Open in September.

In the Ladies singles, Ireland Chloe Magee is up against Welsh girl Sarah Thomas in her opening match.  Chloe is also in good form having reached the quarter finals in the Welsh International last weekend.

In the Mixed Doubles,  Ireland’ brother and sister, Chloe & Sam Magee have a tough opening match against the number 4 seeds, however they reached the semi finals at the Welsh Open last weekend end losing  a place in the final after three very close sets. _U5G2297_Custom
