ISBT Ireland 22-25th Oct 2010 25 Teams 181 players 16 courts 24 hours of badminton Theme – Myths, Fairytales and Legends!
The 7th Irish International Student Badminton Tournament took place in the University of Limerick over the October Bank holiday weekend. We had 181 players from 25 teams taking part in a 3 day badminton extravaganza! The Arena Sports Centre and the Old Sports Building in UL hosted almost 24 hours of badminton on 16 courts for much of the 3 days. The competition was run in 4 Divisions – from International standard to beginner culminating in 16 finals on Monday afternoon! Every night there was a social organised for all the participants to attend and enjoy the night life in Limerick. Sunday night was our fancy dress Theme night and as usual was held in the Sports Bar. The prize for Best dressed went to UCC’s Monty Python gang! The Team trophy was won by ‘Ulster of Ulster' badminton team captained by Susan Stephenson! All Individual event winners are listed below. Thanks must go to the Organising Committee – Conor, Kat, John, Kevin and all those that helped out at the desk. Thanks to the Arena, UL staff, the Sports Bar, the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel, Trinity Rooms and all our players for coming to Limerick and enjoying the badminton! We will see you next year!
