2010 Dwarf Sports Association Badminton Championships

The National Badminton Centre Milton Keynes was the venue for the DSA (Dwarf Sports Association) Badminton Championships; this is the first ranking championship of the new season and was attended by over 60 players; U12, U16 and Open.

Niall McVeighThree Members of Dwarf Sports Association NI travelled to the championships; Emma Farnham, Andrew Moorcroft and Niall McVeigh, supported by Sport NI ASP Program. This was Andrew's first Championships. He was in the under 12 section and was in a group of 5 players and he won two and lost two which left Andrew 3rd in group to take Bronze Medal. He also played in the Doubles and won Silver. This was a great inaugural Championships for Andrew. 

Emma had a good championship to in her group. She won one and lost one to give her a place in quarter final against Kim Dean but was not able to progress to semis. Emma played in Ladies doubles and took 3rd to pick up the Bronze Medal.

Niall McVeigh came 2nd in his group to get to the Quarter Finals. He played Stefan Garde and won in two sets. In the Semi Finals, Niall played Andrew Martin. He lost the first set but fought back to win the second and third. In the final, Niall faced Oliver Clarke and won in two sets to win Gold and win his first championship of the season. Niall also played in Men’s Doubles with Partner Krysten Coombs; they progressed to the final to play Andrew Martin and Oliver Clarke but lost in two sets to take Silver.
